Odd (or just repetitive) how plot of both
Stubborn Grew & long dream-poem "Grain Elevator" pivot on a "spirit guide" of some kind (Bluejay, my grandfather's ghost) leading narrator Henry
through & into a painting (30s prairie storm picture in the latter; Renaissance Magdalen miniature in former).
See also 2nd "chapter" of
Stubborn ("Ancient Light") : the whole thing is about interaction between people & artworks (in London).
"Leave it for lost! It's gone for good!
Come on, come with me! Move, move
And walk – walk through the phony frame!"
